31 - Bakre Ka Bali - Part 1

The humble bakra (Goat) is much sought after at Christmas and party times. The price of the Bakra goes up 50% to 100% during Christmas in Fiji.
One other time the Bakra is needed is when a sacrifice or Bali is to be offered.

Belief in the local Ojha, Sufi, or the witch doctor has been prevalent over centuries, and sadly, quite a good percent of the population still continue to believe in them.

The Ojha ji commands so much respect in many communities that people would much rather take their sick relatives to a Ojha than to a G.P.

All the great religions of the world preach that SarvShaktiMaan God is the only one worth praying to. Many people do not agree with this, but then, many people strongly believe that there is no God. We are not here to deprive anyone of their wishes and choices.

Generally speaking, people who do not believe in God or any supernatural powers are those who have a lot of money, those who have reasonable formal education, people in professional of semi-professional positions, or people who possess a lot of physical strength.

When the successful business fails, money starts to run out, professional carreers and social standing starts to flop, physical strength is slowly diminishing, health of the loved ones is not so good, the once happy family is suddenly falling apart....these same, seemingly strong, people are seen in the very front of the queue at prayer houses all over the world.

Deen Dayaalu, Karuna Nidhaan Prabhu Ji smilingly accepts all his devotees !

Der se aaye, drust aaye, aaye to sahi !!!

30 - Kauravas were Doomed to Lose - Part 2

EIGHTEEN (18) is a significant number in Indian Mythlogy & Scriptures.

18 Days of Mahabharata War
18 Adhyays (Chapters) in the Bhagvat Gita.
18 armies (11 on Kauravs side and 7 on Pandavas side)
18 Maharathis (7 on Kauravs side and 11 on Pandavas side)

Recently there was the 18 day uprising in Egypt. While this may be a co-incidence, there is no co-incidence in the Mahabharata War being of 18 Days.

18 is derived from the sum of 11 + 7.
11 is derived from the sum of 5 + 5 + 1
Ekadasi means 1 + 10 which equals 11. Ekadasi Vrat is for the control of our 10 Indriyas + 1 Mun.

What is 11, what is 7, what is 5 & what is 1 ?
We already discussed about 7 being the "Saat Shatrus" - Kaam, Krodh, Lobh. Moh, Maya, etc

5 are the five Gyan Indriyas (Sight, Hearing, Touch, Taste & Smell)
The other 5 are the Karam Indriyas (Tongue, Feet, Hands, Genital of excretion & Genitals of reproduction)

1 is the lone Chanchal Mun

The Kauravas had 11 Achauni Sena (Armies) and 7 Maharathis (Commanders). The 7 Maharathis are the Saat Shatrus. So the 7 Shatrus (Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, etc) were in control of the 10 Indriyas + the Chanchal Mun.

The Pandavas had 7 Achauni Sena and 11 Maharathis. So the 10 Indriyas + the Mun (11) were in control of the 7 Shatrus.

All the religious scriptures (Hindu, Islam, Christian, Sikh, etc) preach that the Mun should be in control of the 10 Indriyas, and together they (11) should be able to control and subdue the 7 Shatrus. If the 7 Shatrus rule the 10 Indriyas and the mun, then the person is heading for self destruction.

Abhimaani, agyaani Duryodhan, apne kaamnaao, krodh, lobh (Shatruwo) ko apne Mun aur Indriyo par raaj karne deta hay. Gyani Satguru Shri Krishna ko chord kar Narayani Sena ko chuna tha ! Ant mein (in the end) apne ander ka shatru, Mun aur Indriyo par kaabu, kabja kar ke jeevan ko dukh may bana diya.
