26 - Parmanand - The Eternal Bliss

The great Kavi (poet) Tulsidas Ji uses the katha of Manu & Satrupa to show how the ultimate happiness, the eternal bliss can be achieved by human beings when they attain the state of a Brahman.

Hindu scriptures are not a source of guidance for Hindus only but for all mankind. According to Hindu scriptures Brahman is a state of complete freedom (Nirvana, enlightenment) attained by any human being.

Manu in Sanskrit means Mind. Satrupa in sankrit means Truth or True Form.

When the Mind is ruled by Truth only then one is free of all the 7 Shatrus - Kaam, Krodh, lobh, Moh...etc

Karahi ahaar saak fal kanda; Sumirahi Brahma Satchidananda.
Eating Saak (bhaaji) fruits and root crops (Kanda), they meditate to the source of ultimate happiness and bliss. (A bit hard to mediate with food made from the carcass of dead animals !)

In email 12 - Chatnaar Vriksha the concept of GOD and religions was somewhat explained. Sitting under the shady tree are us the humans. The shade is the knowledge (gyan) that gives us shanti in times of turmoil. The shady tree is the religion or the Gods under which we align ourselves. Most of us cannot or do not want to see beyond the tree. When the TRUTH is revealed to the Yogi & Sadhu, only then do they realise that there is something beyond the tree that provides the shade - The Sun.

Sambhu Biranchi Vishnu bhagwana; Upjahi jaasu ans te nana.

Who are they meditating to ? Someone who is beyond and above Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Krishna, Ram, Sai, Nanak, Jesus, Mohammed. When one achieves the free state of Brahman one lifts oneself above the petty divisions of caste, race, colour, sects, sex, religions, etc.  If your enmity is based on any of these divisions then we have a loooong way to go to achieve the Brahman state.

Why do we have so many Gods, dieties, semi Gods & Demi Gods ? There is only One God. The rest are just ways to get to HIM.

Hindu scripture, like all other holy books, has enormous lessons for a wonderful happy life. Please do not misinterpret this as Updesh - I'm not trying to lecture you ! This is not an Adesh - I'm not trying to order you around ! Please accept this as a beautiful Sandesh - a message of happiness, freedom and a small step towards the ultimate goal !

Hamaare Guru Jan ki Jay Ho !
Guru Ji baar baar samjha rahe hay, bata rahe hay, gyan baat rahe hay, lekin mere mun mein utna hi gaya jo mere choti buddhi samajh saki

Muskuraate raho !

So I can, and I will, only tell you what I have understood. This may not be the best you have heard, please forgive me and my little brain !

25 - CHANCHAL MAN

CHANCHAL MAN

Sabhi grantho ka kendra (focus) hamara chanchal man hay. Hindi scripture mein Indra ko man kaha gaya hay. Puraano ki kathaon mein dekhiye. Indra swarg  mein raj karta hay, ayesh aur aaraam (worldly pleaures) mein kho jaata hay, Prabhu ko bhool jaata hay. Raakshas, Asur log kathin tap kar ke, siddhi (enlightenment) prapt kar ke Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh se vardaan maang kar Indra se swarg ko jeet lete hay. Indra bhaag kar Prabhu ke paas jaate hay, Prabhu koi na koi upaaye nikaal kar swarg fir Indra to de dete hay. (Sounds familiar ? )

All the great granths of the world constantly teach us how to control our mind.

The reason for starting the Ramayan with Shiv Ji is given in Doha 104

Man se vikaar (7 shatru) ko hatao to man swatch, nirmal, vimal ho jaayega.

Man ke saath mein Satya (truth) hoga, shradha (dedication) hogi, tabhi sukh ki prapti hogi.

Raja Manu (Man) Rani Satroopa (satya) ke saath mein bahut bahut samay tak tap kiya (shradha se) - tab Prabhu (Param Anand) ka darshan huwa !

Pratham hi may kahi Shiv charit, Boojha maram tumhaar;
Suchi sewak tumh Ram ke, Rahit samast vikaar.

Us jamaane mein Shiv bhakt, Krishna Bhakt, Ram Bhakt, Vishnu Bhakt, etc...apne Ist Deo ko sab se bada maante the, Aur kisi bhagwan par vishwaas nahi tha.

SAB KA MAALIK EK !

Yahaan samjhaate hay Yagyavalakya Ji ki Shiv Ji ki katha sunaa kar may ne aap ke maram (dil ki baat, man ki gati) ko jaan liya. Ram bhakt hote huwe aap ne Shiv katha itni priti se, shradha se suni, may jaan gaya aap ek swatch, nirmal man waale, vikaar rahit, sacche Prabhu bhakt ho.
Yahi bidhi beete barash shat, Sahas baari aahaar;
Sambat sapt sahastra puni, Rahe Sameer adhaar.

24 - Indra's Horses‏

Ray maharaj from Canada asked....
"I do not know if this is where I will find answer to this question,,,what are
the names of indra bhagwans 4 horses ?"

After some research and snooping around for answers, I was able to discover a bit more than the question requested. Happy to share this with you !

Guru Jan batlaate hain ki "Aisi question to nagona peene waale poocha karte hay, aadhi ratri ke baad" (no offence bhai ji but you have inspired me to dig deep and find something for myself)

Kahi par Indra ka ek ghoda mila, aur kahi saat (7) ghode mile. Chaar (4) ghodo (horses) ka charcha kewal ek hi sthaan par aaya.

What does this mean ? Everything discussed in the scriptures are also found in our body, in our lives.

Indra ke paanch sahaayak (Agni, Wayu, Surya, Varun, Rudra) hamaare 5 senses hay. In paanchon indriyon (senses) ke raja Indra hay. Brahmand ke Indra hamare pind mein mun (mind) hay.

Jab indriyon ke ishaare par naachta hay to Chanchal, badmaash, kutil mun kahlaata hay !

Indra ke chaar ghode hay chaar dishaaye (4 directions - East West North South) - This may not be the answer Ray may be looking for !

Indra jab rath par hota hay to saat ghode rath ko kheech rahe hay. Saat shatruwo ko apne bas mein kiya huwa hay.

Jab Indra ghode par sawaar hota hay (when He is riding it) to ek safed (pure white) ghoda par, saat sir (7 headed), two winged - is ghode ka naam Uchaishravas hay. 7 heads indicate the saat shatru. Again, Indra (mun) ghode par sawaar hay, saato shatruwo ko bas mein, control mein kiye hay.

Uchaishravas ka arth hay "dono kaan upar uthaay huwe". Those who have lived close to horses would know that when the ears are up indicates the horse is alert, aware and in control.

Swatch mun, nirmal mun - saato shatruwon ko bas mein kiye huwe. (See the 7 Shatru in email 17)

23 - Shaadi – Part 2

Shaadi – Part 2

Hamaare Granthon mein do logo ke kartavya ko badi kadi bhasha mein bataya aur samjhaya gaya hay.

Ek to gyaani Brahman ko kaise rahna chaahiye, kaise nahi rahna chaahiye, aur doosra ek kulwanti naari ka dharma kya hay, kaise rahna  ya na rahna chaahiye !

Jiwan mein gyan (from Gyani Brahman & Guru Jan) ke saath saath Sanskaar aur Sabbhyata (from Mata ji) ka hona bhi ati awashyak maana jaata hay.

 Pita Ji ka kartavya, aacharan ko Ved Puraan mein utni gambhirta se, kathorta se nahi bataya gaya, jitna Naari dharam par zor diya gaya hay. Sadhu, Sant, Gyani jan ka vichaar hay ki ghar ki naari hi apne ghar pariwaar ko sanghtan mein baandh sakti hay ya phir, akele hi, saare ghar pariwaar ko naash kar sakti hay !
Isi liye har shaadi se pahle, aur shaadi ke baad, pariwaar ke sabhi bade boodhe gyaani jan (amma, mausi, mami, dadi), hone waali dulhan ko acche seekh, vichaar, gyan dete hay. In the olden days the Bhauji used to tell her about the “birds & the Bees”, but nowdays it seems unnecessary !

This beautiful kavita from an unknown kavi, fully captures the woman’s role in society….

Dhrut naya, Dhaan purane, Ghar kulvanti naar;
Aangan aangan baalak khele, "SWARG" nishaani chaar.

Rookhe bhojan, Karj sar, Ghar kulakshani naar;
Aawat ka aadar nahi "NARK" nishaani chaar.

Dhrut – Ghee, Doodh, Dahi (Purity, shudhata)
Dhaan – Rice from the family farm
Kulvanti – Well mannered, kind, respectful, respectable
Baalak – children, (not to be confused with a male child)
Swarg – happiness, Param-anand, Khushi

Rookhe bhojan – Food prepared without love, served without a smile
Karj sar – Having credits and loans beyond your capacity to pay
Kulakshani – Ill mannered, rude, uncultured

Meaning:

Jis ghar mein roz doodh dahi hota ho, shuddh badhiya bhojan milta ho;
Jis ghar mein pichle saal wale dhaan khatam hone se pahle, naya dhaan katne lage – yaane khaane peene ki koi kamee nahi;
Jis ghar ki Naari kulwanti ho, sanskaar aur sabbheta se puran ho, Acche vichaar, acche aacharan waali ho, doosron ki izzat karna jaanti ho, aur jis ki apne ghar-pariwaar mein izzat kiya jaata ho;
Jis ghar ke aangan mein baal bacchon ki kilkaariyan goonjti ho; Bacche izzatdaar ho, sanskaari ho, aur bacchon ki izzat kiya jaata ho.
Wo ghar is dharti par SWARG se kam nahin hay.
Us ghar mein Khushiyaan, Shanti, Gyan, Vairaag, Anand – sada niwaas karenge.

Jis ghar mein khaane peene ki cheezon ki kami nahi hay, par bhojan pakaane mein, parosne mein koi preeti nahi ho, koi muskuraahat nahi ho, koi khushi nahi ho. Bartan (utencils) ka kharkhadana sitting room tak sunaata ho !
Jis ghar mein aane waale atithi, paariwaarik jano ka aadar nahi, gao padosi doston ka swaagat nahi, bade boodhe guru-jan ko saadar pranaam nahin;
Jhagda, dukh, bimaari, talaaq, Ashanti aise ghar ko chord kar jayegi hi nahi !

NOTE: There is no mention about the humble husband anywhere ?
