Balkand Doha 51 - Suspicion

बिष्नु जो सुर हित नरतनु धारी। सोउ सर्बग्य जथा त्रिपुरारी।।
खोजइ सो कि अग्य इव नारी। ग्यानधाम श्रीपति असुरारी।।

Vishnu jo Sur hit nartan dhaari; Sou sarvagya jatha Tripuraari

Khojai so ki agya eu naari; gyaan dhaam Shripati Asurari

Vishnu bhagwaan is omniscient (sarvagya) and knows everything – just like (jatha) Shiv Ji (Tripuraari). If He had taken the form of a Human (to assist the good people of the world);

Vishnu ji (Shripati) is the source of all knowledge (Gyan Dhaam), the killer of all evils (Asuraari). Would He look for His lost wife like an ignorant person (agyaani) ? Never !

संभुगिरा पुनि मृषा न होई। सिव सर्बग्य जान सबु कोई।।
अस संसय मन भयउ अपारा। होई न हृदयँ प्रबोध प्रचारा।।

Shambhu gira puni mrisha na hoi; Shiv sarvagya jaan sab koi

As sansay mun bhayu apaara; Hoi na hriday prabodh prachaara

But Shiv ji called Him “Jai Satchidanand” ? Shiv ji’s statement cannot be wrong ! He is omniscient and knows everything. That is the huge doubt and uncertainty in my mind. Mata Sati is not able to get any source of satisfactory answers in her mind.
जद्यपि प्रगट न कहेउ भवानी। हर अंतरजामी सब जानी।।
सुनहि सती तव नारि सुभाऊ। संसय अस न धरिअ उर काऊ।।

Yadhapi pragat na kahayu Bhawaani; Har antaryaami sab jaani

Sunahu Sati taw naari subhau; Sansay as na dhariye ur kaau.

Although (yadhapi) Mata Bhawaani has not spoken aloud these words (only thought in the mind), antaryaami Shiv ji heard all that. He advised Her that the cause of your doubts is your female attribute. You should erase any doubtful thoughts from your mind.  

Women are suspicious by nature – Are they ? Maybe – but they are very forgiving as well. Suspicious men are unforgiving ! Rishi Jamdagni ordered his son Parshuram to kill his wife, who spent a night at Sahastra Arjun’s palace – without investigating what happened there. Rishi Gautam turned Ahilya into a rock when Indra tricked her. Raja Yudhisthar gambled his wife (Dropadi) away – as if she were a belonging.

The domesticated, docile, pativrata wife is fast getting out of fashion. There has been a huge expolsion of knowledge in the Hindu society, where respect for women has been ever increasing. We may have come a long way, but there is still some way to go – for many women are still being beaten by cowards.

जासु कथा कुभंज रिषि गाई। भगति जासु मैं मुनिहि सुनाई।।
सोउ मम इष्टदेव रघुबीरा। सेवत जाहि सदा मुनि धीरा।।

Jaasu katha Kumbhaj rishi gaai; Bhagti jaasu May munihi sunaai

Sou mum Istdeo Raghubira; Sewat jaahi sada muni dheera

Shiv ji says “It was His katha that Kumbhaj rishi was telling us (but you did not pay attention). It was His bhagti that I gave to Agast Muni.

He is my beloved God Raghuveer Shri Ram. Rishi, Muni, and gyaani people pray to him all the time.

छं0-मुनि धीर जोगी सिद्ध संतत बिमल मन जेहि ध्यावहीं।
कहि नेति निगम पुरान आगम जासु कीरति गावहीं।।
सोइ रामु ब्यापक ब्रह्म भुवन निकाय पति माया धनी।
अवतरेउ अपने भगत हित निजतंत्र नित रघुकुलमनि।।

Muni dheer jogi siddh santat bimal mun jehi dyawahi

Kahi neti nigam puraan aagam jaasu keerati gaawahi

Soi Ramu vyapak Bramh bhuwan nikaay pati maya dhani

Autareu apne bhagat hit nijtantra nit Raghukulmani

Rishi, Muni, and gyaani people pray to Him with clean hearts

Ved puraan granth have called Him “Neti Neti” (unable to tell the complete story)

That Bramh Shri Ram, the King of the universe, Maya Pati, has taken the form of a human to assist those who love him dearly
सो0-लाग न उर उपदेसु जदपि कहेउ सिवँ बार बहु।
बोले बिहसि महेसु हरिमाया बलु जानि जियँ।।1/51।।

Laag na ur updesh jadapi kaheu Shiv baar bahu

Bole bihasi Mahesh, Hari Maya bal jaani jiye

Shiv ji tried to explain to Mata Sati, many times, but the dark clouds of doubt were too strong to let the light of great knowledge enter her mind. Shiv Ji knew that only God’s Maya has the power to withstand His knowledge, He smiles and says….
